transport and traffic for sustainable cities05 august 2008This one-day workshop raised the issue of traffic’s role in global warming and discussed traffic planning in response to climate change and the need for sustainable growth. Traffic systems from European cities were analysed as case studies, and Townsville’s public transport system was also discussed. Keynote speakers included Dr. Douglas Goudie and Lal Wadhwa from JCU, Anton Ryslinge from Gehl Architects, Tony Hall from the Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, and Jason van Paassen from Parsons Brinckerhoff. |
